Meet the Piercers
Matt
|
Matt has been a piercer since 1997, and has trained some of the best piercers in the area. Matt participated with the original DHEC forum to regulate body piercing in South Carolina and later to legalize and regulate tattooing. Matt is Alaskan born, and was raised in California & Michigan, moving to S.C. during high school. He is a former U.S. Army Reserves Dental Specialist, who was top of his class & received special awards for excellence. After completing basic training and school, he moved back to the Lowcountry where he began his piercing apprenticeship.

Kate

Kate has been piercing since 2012. She grew up in the Lowcountry, graduated from Stratford High School, and attended College of Charleston, studying Early Childhood Education. You can see more of Kate's work on instagram at @shtburns |
Emma

Emma was born and raised in the Lowcountry, graduating from Summerville High School and is working towards a degree in criminal justice. She has worked for Exotic Impressions since 2023, and completed her piercing apprenticeship in July 2024 under Kate and Matt. She is a big fan of small fishes and gardening. Donna

Donna was born in Sarasota, Florida but was raised in Summerville, South Carolina and has lived here her whole life. She attended Ashley Ridge High School and is aspiring to go to school for dermatology. She loves all things spooky and is a mega fan of Garfield. She has worked at Exotic Impressions since 2023, and finishing her apprenticeship in December 2024. You can find her work on Instagram @piercing_noodlesoup.

DeEtta completed her apprenticeship in 2018 at Exotic Impressions. She is a South Carolina native and graduated from Goose Creek High School and received her career technical education in early childhood development . DeEtta went on to graduate from Lacy's School of beauty and Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology earning her license in Cosmetology and Esthetics. |

Tehya is a South Carolina native with a life long love for body mods. She started her career with Exotic Impressions in 2019 as sales and would go on to become a piercer in 2022. You can check out her work @pierced.wright.
